Save a Life Day Free Naloxone Distribution Locations

Delaware County Department of Human Services Office of Drug and Alcohol Services in partnership and collaboration with The Delaware County Health Department join community partners for National Save a Life Day. This is a nationwide initiative dedicated to preventing opioid overdose deaths through education, awareness, and the free distribution of naloxone (commonly known by the brand name Narcan®).
Naloxone is a safe, easy-to-administer medication that rapidly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose by restoring normal breathing while emergency medical services are on the way. It is effective in reversing overdoses involving opioids, including fentanyl, heroin, and prescription opioid medications.
Naloxone has no effect on individuals who do not have opioids in their system, it can be administered safely when an opioid overdose is suspected. As a widely accessible, lifesaving medication, naloxone empowers the community to take immediate action.
