COSA and Upper Chichester Department of Recreation Hosting Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program Starting October 16
Delaware County, PA — The Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) is partnering with the Upper Chichester Department of Recreation and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to host the nationally recognized Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program for residents 60 years or older looking for relief from arthritis pain or to stay active.
The program will be held at the Upper Chichester Fieldhouse (8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester, PA 19014) and will include six sessions on the following Fridays: October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, November 20, and a special celebration on December 4. All sessions run from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.
Participants will receive the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Guidebook and will walk once a week as a group and at least two other times per week on their own. Participants will share and receive support from a trained leader and other walkers at weekly group meetings.
This evidence-based program is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis; increase balance, strength, and walking pace; build confidence in one’s ability to be physically active; and improve overall health.
Program costs are covered by COSA and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, so the program is FREE, however class size is limited. Register by contacting COSA’s Health and Wellness Program Coordinator by calling 610-499-1947 or emailing williamse@co.delaware.pa.us. Please provide your name, address, phone number, and email address.
