Annual Delco 10 Miler Coming Sunday, October 4
Temporary road closures expected across four Delaware County municipalities
Delaware County, PA — Thousands of runners from across 20 states, volunteers and spectators will take to Delaware County roads on Sunday, October 4, for the second annual Delco 10 Miler, a 10-mile point-to-point race beginning at Rose Tree Park in Media and finishing at Union Yards at Subaru Park in Chester.
The race begins at 8 AM, and motorists should expect temporary road closures and traffic delays beginning as early as 7 AM along portions of the race route.
The course travels through Upper Providence, Media, Nether Providence and Chester, connecting Delaware County neighborhoods and communities along the way. Roads will reopen on a rolling basis as the final runners pass through each section. Police will manage intersections and allow traffic to cross when conditions permit. All roads are expected to reopen by approximately 11 AM.
MOTORISTS: PLAN AHEAD
Drivers traveling through the race area on Sunday morning are encouraged to:
- Allow extra time to reach their destination.
- Avoid the race route when possible.
- Expect temporary closures and delays.
- Follow police directions and posted detours.
- Do not attempt to drive through a closed intersection or roadway.
- Check local traffic reports before heading out Sunday morning.
RACE-DAY TIMING
6:00 AM — Runner parking/shuttle operations begin at Subaru Park
7:00 AM — Road closures begin along portions of the course
8:00 AM — Delco 10 Miler begins at Rose Tree Park
Approximately 11:00 AM — All roads expected to be reopened

Important: Road closures will be temporary and will move along the course as the race progresses. The exact timing of individual closures and reopenings will vary by location.

Spectators and families are welcome at the finish line and post-race celebration at Subaru Park.
