Summary
This position carries responsibility for a Permanency Planning unit to include supervision of County Social Workers and/or Caseworkers and Social Service Aides. This position is also responsible for but not limited to the following: meeting with staff as needed to resolve case crises and discuss decisions about placement and court action; assuring record keeping and completion of all Court work in compliance with Department of Human Services Foster Care Regulations; ensuring Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Concurrent Planning timelines are followed; assigning workload to staff. Duties also include scheduling regular conferences with staff; training and monitoring of staff in all areas of the job assignment and performance; assessing additional training needs of unit staff and assisting in providing or arranging for such training; completing required performance evaluation ratings and evaluation narratives for staff.
Minimum Experience And Training Requirements
Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
