Summary
Under general direction of the President Judge and Director and direct supervision of the Domestic Relations Court Supervisor, the Domestic Relations Court Unit's responsibility is to process new Judges' and Masters' Court Orders rendered at Domestic Relations court hearings regarding child support.
Essential Duties
- Prepares case folders for assigned days in court.
- Updates court lists for each hearing.
- Provides Judges and Masters with additional case related information.
- Ensures court orders are complete and accurate.
- Enters New/Changes in court orders in child support system.
- Prepares for and attends right to detain hearings.
- Receives and processes Appeals to PA Superior Court.
- Reschedules cases when necessary.
- Assists attorneys/clients with court-related requests.
- Assists in certifying orders.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in the Domestic Relations Department preferred with a demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Department and Court procedures.
- Associates Degree is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with analytical ability and research skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment independently.
- Superior organizational skills with the capability to prioritize work.
Physical Requirements
- Normal good health.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs in order to carry files and pull file carts.
- Ability to function in highly stressful situations.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
