Summary
The Summer Stage Crew / Amphitheater & Facilities Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Rose Tree Summer Festival by assisting with stage setup, equipment handling, performer support, and general amphitheater and facility upkeep. This position plays an important role in helping the festival run smoothly and provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with professional audio, lighting, and concert facility operations during an exciting summer performance season.
Essential Duties
- Assist with the manual setup and tear-down of Rose Tree Park stage audio and lighting equipment for seasonal performances under the direction of the Rose Tree Head Engineer, Price Stevenson.
- Assist performers with the load-in of instruments and other performance equipment.
- Help maintain the amphitheater grounds and support general facility duties.
- Assist in maintaining clean dressing room and restroom facilities along with other staff members.
- Interact with performers and audience members in a courteous, polite, and professional manner.
- Participate in paid onsite training prior to the start of the Festival season, anticipated in late May or early June.
- Support additional operational and facility needs as assigned in preparation for and during the festival season.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform manual labor in a concert or outdoor event setting.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors and in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn the basics of professional audio and lighting systems and concert facility operations.
- Strong reliability and ability to follow direction.
- Courteous and professional demeanor when working with performers, staff, and the public.
- Valid driver’s license required for potential local trips for supplies and possible movement of onsite vehicles.
Additional Information
Schedule:
The Summer Festival season runs from June 17, 2026 through August 16, 2026. Regular work hours are 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
Exceptions include:
- June 24 – 10:00 a.m. children’s show
- July 3 – 10:00 a.m. children’s show
- July 4 – Festival closed
- Training: Paid onsite training will be provided by the Rose Tree Head Engineer prior to Festival dates, expected in late May or early June.
- Dress Code: Staff T-shirts will be provided. Dress code is clean and casual, with denim or neutral shorts preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in seasonal weather conditions.
- This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic summer concert season while gaining exposure to the fundamentals of professional stage audio, lighting, and live event facility operations.
Additional preseason and postseason hours may be available to assist with preparation for the season and closing duties. Dates and times will be determined as needed.
