Summary

The Project Technician is responsible for managing the daily projects and operations of the County Copy Center for all County departments and outside government offices, including the Courts, Fair Acres, and COSA. Under the general supervision of the Director of Administrative Services, this position coordinates duplication projects, operates and maintains copy center equipment, assists with billing and reporting functions, and provides support to the Mailroom and Receiving operations as needed.

 

Essential Duties

  • Coordinate all duplication projects throughout the County, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of assignments.
  • Prioritize workflow to meet the needs of Senior Directors, Judges, and County Council.
  • Create computer programs through Command Workstation and Fiery software with Jobmaster Application, including PDF/Adobe PDF transfer to Microsoft Word.
  • Operate and maintain approximately fifteen (15) machines and other types of equipment used to create and produce a variety of design and duplication projects.
  • Prepare monthly department billing and journal entries for County department expenses related to the Copy Center, Mailroom, and Receiving for processing by the Controller’s Office.
  • Manage supply inventory for the Copy Center.
  • Prepare monthly department equipment usage reports for all copier machines in the Copy Center.
  • Cross-train in various duties within the department and Mailroom.
  • Assist with Mailroom and Receiving operations as needed.
  • Help ensure employees get to the proper safe location during emergency situations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of responsible office-related experience or comparable computer training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills, including SAP, Workday, Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Fiery Command Workstation, and Fiery software with Jobmaster Application, including PDF/Adobe PDF transfer to Microsoft Word.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to learn operation of a postage meter machine and a computerized scanning system used to scan tracking barcodes.
  • Valid driver’s license required to pick up mail from the Post Office when needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds to carry mail trays, boxes of copy paper, toner, envelopes, and other Copy Center supplies.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time while operating copiers and preparing projects.
