VOTING MACHINES DEPARTMENT

The Voting Machine Department is responsible for the storage, security, programming, testing, and delivery of all voting equipment distributed to 428 Delaware County precincts in over 300 polling locations. All potential changes in polling place locations are inspected to ensure polling place guidelines and ADA compatibility standards are met.

Voting Machines holds an instruction class for election board members on the Thursday and Saturday prior to each election. The Chief Custodian presents a demonstration of proper procedures to be followed for the opening, operation and closing of the voting machines on Election Day.

The official Tabulation process is conducted at the Voting Machine Warehouse overseen by the Chief Custodian of the Voting Machine Department.

The Voting Machine Department’s Mission Statement is very simple. “Not a single resident of Delaware County will ever be unable to vote due to the actions or inactions of this Department.”
