Register of Wills Online Systems

ONLINE SYSTEMS SERVICES

1. Online Marriage License Applications
The Register of Wills office has a special website in which couples can input their information in advance.

2. Online Pre-entry of Petition for Probates
The Register of Wills office has a special website in which attorneys can log in probate information. It has all of the fields of a Petition for Probate. After the attorney logs in the information for a Petition for Probate, he/she can come into the Register of Wills office with his/her client. At that time, we will download the probate Petition. This eliminates the need for attorneys to prepare "paper" Petitions for Probate. This process expedites the time in which a probate can be completed.

3. Online Ordering of Copies
The Register of Wills now accepts ordering of copies and processing of credit card payments online for both marriage records and probate records. This eliminates the need for individuals to prepare paper order forms and mail those forms into the physical office for processing. E-copies are filled by email, and paper-certified and paper-exemplified copies (which involve our office’s special seal) are filled by U.S. mail. Most orders are processed within 14 days of receipt, but we are experiencing additional delays during the COVID-19 emergency. Please note that refunds for errant orders may take up to two weeks to complete.

4. Online Records Search: Probated Estates
The Register of Wills office now offers all members of the public the ability to search probated estates and data fields (but not images of documents) of our records anytime for free by proceeding to our portal, clicking the LOGIN AS GUEST button (no username/password is required), selecting Search Public Records option, selecting Case Names, and searching for your record. This eliminates the need for individuals to pay and wait for an estate name search that they would rather do themselves. It will also cut down on the number of instances when a document is ordered in error, as users can first check to determine if the document is in our records. We are not offering images of documents at this time due to privacy concerns, but users can still proceed with a purchase of a document that we have by proceeding to Online Ordering of Copies. For a video walkthrough of how to use this service, please view the Searching for Probated Estates Online video or click below:

5. Online Records Search: Marriage Licenses
The Register of Wills office now offers all members of the public the ability to search the existence of marriage records (but not images of documents, such as the actual license) of our records anytime for free by proceeding to our portal, clicking the LOGIN AS GUEST button (no username/password is required), selecting Search Public Records option, selecting Marriage Names, and searching for your record. This eliminates the need for individuals to wait for our office to confirm whether Delaware County, PA is where you applied for your marriage record. It will also cut down on the number of instances when a marriage record is ordered from us in error, as users can first check to determine if the marriage record is in our records. We are not offering images of documents such as the license itself at this time due to privacy concerns, but users can still proceed with a purchase of a marriage record that we have by proceeding to Online Ordering of Copies. For a video walkthrough of how to use this service, please view the Searching for the Existence of Marriage Records Online video or click below:
