Adoption Records

Adoption Records News & Alerts

Our Virtual Office is open 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and closed holidays. We do not accept walk-ins or appointments for adoption records services because all of our services are done on a virtual basis. If you believe you have a request that cannot be completed via phone, email, fax, or U.S. mail, please contact the office for further assistance.

Searching for Adoption Records: To access information from an adoption record you must complete our request for indentifying/non-identifying information form.

Make sure to attach a copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo ID. Your request should be sent by US mail to: Delaware County Orphans’ Court, 201 West Front Street, Media, PA 19063.

The court will review your request and appoint you a case worker within the Children’s and Youth Services department who will conduct a records search and contact you with any information that is allowable by law. If there is no information available, then you will receive a letter stating that fact.

**Note: if you are the adoptive parent(s) and are simply looking for proof of adoption and have no interest in any further information then you may give our office a call or send us an e-mail( Orphanscourt@co.delaware.pa.us) to inquire on how to obtain a certificate of adoption.
