The Division of Environmental Health is responsible for the prevention of human injury and illness, the promotion of a healthy environment and protect our community from environmental hazards. Our department prevents, minimizes and contains adverse health events and conditions resulting from communicable disease like food, water, vector borne outbreaks, chronic disease, environmental hazards, injuries and health disparities. We ensure compliance with existing local and state public health and environmental codes, regulations and policies by conducting inspections, and providing assistance to individuals, businesses and groups. In addition, we coordinate responses to public complaints and inquiries on environmental or public health matters within Delaware County.
