Meo Logo The mission of the Office of the Medical Examiner is to investigate cases of sudden, unexpected, and/or violent deaths that occur within Delaware County. The findings of these investigations are then independently shared with members of the public and relevant agencies to improve public safety and health.

Our Vision

By having licensed practitioners and professionally trained staff who conduct medicolegal investigations and adhere to industry standards in a setting that is striving for industry accreditation, we aspire to establish ourselves as a trustworthy source of accurate, scientifically supported assessments of deaths in our community.

Our Services

The Delaware County Office of the Medical Examiner offers an array of essential services. Our team includes Board Certified forensic pathologists overseeing morgue operations, skilled autopsy technicians providing vital technical support, and experienced professionals conducting thorough forensic investigations.

We also provide comprehensive administrative support, featuring a Bereavement Coordinator dedicated to guiding families through their interactions with our Office.

Additionally, we manage evidence with utmost integrity and security, conduct detailed postmortem examinations, issue death certifications, draw medical conclusions, and uphold exemplary standards in medicolegal death investigations and community engagement.
