MISSION

The mission of the Diagnostic Services Department is to improve the quality of life of Delaware County citizens by assuring a safer community in which to live and raise their families. This is accomplished by identifying those persons within the criminal justice system who may be experiencing problems with alcohol, drugs, psychiatric, psychological, and sexual-related disorders. The Department promotes a positive behavioral change in a professional manner by treating all persons with the highest degree of respect and protecting their confidentiality.

WHAT WE DO

The Diagnostic Services Department is responsible for completing all court-ordered evaluations from the Magisterial District Courts and the Court of Common Pleas, 32nd Judicial District. One evaluation that a court may order is the Court Reporting Network (C.R.N.) evaluation. A C.R.N. Evaluation is required for all driving under the influence (DUI) offenders in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The C.R.N. evaluation is a pre-screening tool used to determine if a person will be referred for a more Comprehensive Full DUI Assessment. It is also used as a statistics collection tool for Pennsylvania. The court may order a drug and alcohol/substance abuse evaluation, a psychiatric evaluation, a psychological evaluation, psychosexual evaluation, arson, competency, I-Q testing and neuropsychological. The cost associated with each evaluation is the responsibility of the client.
