Members of the Delaware County Park Police, Delaware County Sheriff's Office, and the Delaware County Criminal Investigations Division work together in a joint task force known as the Special Response Team (S.R.T.). The Special Response Team was established in an effort to effectively counter increasing occurrences of violent confrontations between police and criminal elements. The Special Response Team was designed with the safety and protection of all county employees and visitors in mind.

Members of the Special Response Team are chosen based on special skillsets or higher than average performance in areas such as marksmanship and quick decision making. Members continuously train to standards above and beyond the duties of a typical officer in order to meet the high stress demands for situations such as:

Active Shooter
Barricaded Subject
Bomb threat/attack
Hostage situations
