About Us

The Delaware County Park Police is a county-wide police force, responsible for providing police services and fire safety for all parks, trails, physical property, and government buildings of Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Our department prides itself in being the only police department in Delaware County that has county-wide jurisdiction, as every municipality has either its own police department or is patrolled by the Pennsylvania State Police. The Delaware County Park Police provides police services for the Delaware County Department of Special Events and handles roughly 170,000+ vehicles and 500,000+ visitors of Delaware County parks and buildings yearly. In addition, our department is responsible for the issuance of identification cards and for the security of all county employees and persons utilizing said properties and facilities.

The Delaware County Park Police has 86 sworn police officers who maintain foot and vehicle patrols 24/7, 365. The Delaware County Park Police also employs a Civilian staff of Security & Fire Safety Specialists and Administrative Assistants who assist both Park Police and Delaware County Constables in daily operations. Officers, supervisors, and command staff continue their training through annual refreshers in skills such as, basic First Aid, CPR, AED, Narcan, and firearms in accordance with courses approved by the Delaware County Police Chief's Association and the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC). Our officers also attend courses offered by the District Attorney's Office, the Police Academy at Delaware County Community College as well as numerous training locations around the area for special skillset classes and seminars.

The Delaware County Park Police contains multiple divisions and units within the department as well as a joint task force comprised of members of the Park Police, Delaware County Sheriff's Office, and the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office known as the Special Response Team (SRT). Other divisions and units include Patrol Division, Detectives Division, Fire Safety Division, Training Division, Communications Division, and our Bike Patrol Division.
