Judge Andrea E. Puppio received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1990 and her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1993. She was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware County in October of 2020 and is a member of the family court division.
In December of 2002, Judge Puppio was appointed as a magisterial district judge in Springfield, Delaware County. She served close to 18 years on the bench as a magisterial district judge. Her judicial duties included traffic and non-traffic hearings, truancy hearings, as well as criminal arraignments and preliminary hearings. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Puppio was an associate at a plaintiff’s litigation law firm, as well as serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank T. Hazel in the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware County.
Judge Puppio was appointed to the Court of Judicial Discipline in May of 2019 and served until October of 2020.
Judge Puppio also serves on the Springfield Cares Coalition since 2017, which is a unified effort to defeat the crisis of substance use disorder by positive actions and caring responses through community involvement. She also served on the Board of the Delaware County Magisterial District Judges’ Association, as its Vice President (2019-2020) and previously as its secretary (from 2017-2019). She had also previously spoken to various Home and School Association meetings in her school district, discussing discuss new patterns of behavior in the students, trends and other concerns in our school district.
Judge Puppio previously served as a board member of the Chester Education Foundation, whose mission is to support educational excellence and community revitalization in the Chester Upland School District. At one time, she was a board member of the Delaware County Bar Association. In addition, as a member of the Bar Association, Judge Puppio has served on many committees, including Community Outreach Committee.
Judge Puppio also remained active in her community by serving on various committees at the Home and School Association in Springfield.
