Delaware County offers several programs and incentives to help residents reduce their tax burden. Explore these options to save money on property taxes and other obligations.


1. Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion Program

The Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion Program reduces the taxable value of your primary residence, lowering your property tax bill.

  • Eligibility: Homeowners must apply with their county’s assessment office, and the property must be their primary residence.
  • Benefits: A portion of your home's assessed value is excluded from taxation, with savings varying by school district and tax rates.
  • How to Apply:
  • Request an application through your local school district during the open enrollment period (December 15–March 1).
  • Submit the completed form to the Delaware County Board of Assessment.

2. Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program

This state program provides financial relief to homeowners and renters who meet specific income and age requirements.

  • Eligibility:
  • Homeowners/renters aged 65 or older

  • Income Cap: Annual household income of $46,520 or less.
