Delaware County Council and Health Partners Plans (HPP) are hosting a family-friendly event at the Delaware County Wellness Center this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to kick off the back-to-school season.

Being prepared for the new school year can help students feel confident in their ability to function in the classroom.

Students are invited to get haircuts from a local barber, a backpack and school supplies, and for those 12 years of age and older, the COVID-19 vaccine will be available. The free community event will also feature a DJ, face painting, and healthy snacks.

Parents and caregivers with questions can call the County’s COVID-19 Call Center for more information at (484) 276 – 2100. Reservations are NOT required.

During the event, HPP will present Delaware County with a $50,000 check as a contribution to the future Delaware County Health Department. Delaware County Council Vice Chair Dr. Monica Taylor will present an update on the progress of the future Delaware County Health Department, scheduled to launch in January 2022.
