The Salvation Army and Delaware County’s Department of Emergency Services will unveil the new Delaware County Mobile Canteen Unit, equipped to provide First Responders canteen services during major emergencies and public feeding at shelters during disasters. The Grand Opening Ceremony will be held on May 29th at 3:00p.m. at the Rutledge Fire Hall (212 Unity Terrace, Rutledge, PA.)

Delaware County’s Department of Emergency Services has joined the Salvation Army to develop a First Responder and public feeding resource in Delaware County. The new program will offer canteen services to First Responders during major emergencies and public feeding at shelters during disasters.

This service is a collaborative effort between Delaware County’s Department of Emergency Services, the Salvation Army, and the Delaware County Citizen Corps and we be provided at no cost to First Responders and residents.

Delaware County is now recruiting volunteers who can staff the equipment provided and serve our communities. Residents are welcome to attend the Grand Opening Ceremony on May 29 to learn more about volunteer opportunities to staff the canteen, and about other opportunities to serve their community.
