Delaware County Council joined local leaders during the Delaware County Fire and EMS Memorial Committee’s 10th Anniversary and Inclusion Ceremony held on Nov. 4 at the Fire and EMS Memorial in Rose Tree Park. The annual ceremony honors members of Delaware County's Fire and EMS Community who have given their lives during their service to the citizens of Delaware County.

Added to the walls of the Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial were Thomas Chambers, Firefighter, Chester City Bureau of Fire, Byron N. Evans, Firefighter, Upper Darby Township Fire Department and Michael P. Morgan, Deputy Chief, Garrettford Drexel Hill Fire Company, Upper Darby Township Fire Department.

To date, 69 firefighters and EMS members, including the three new additions are memorialized on the Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial in Rose Tree Park. Robert C. Reeder, Paramedic Commander at Crozer Medical Center, who died on October 20, 2018, was also remembered during the ceremony and will be added to the wall in November 2019.

“The wall serves as a place to remember members of Delaware County’s Fire and EMS Community who have given their lives during their service to the citizens of Delaware County and also to those who continue to serve and protect us each day,” said Delaware County Council Chairman John McBlain. “Today as we gather to remember Thomas Chambers, Byron Evans and Michael Morgan we are gravely reminded of the lives lost from responding to a call.”

The inspiration for the memorial began shortly after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Delaware County Fallen Firefighter and EMS Memorial. More information about the memorial and those honored can be found here: www.delcolodd.com
