Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000


Summary

Reporting to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, the Supplier Diversity Manager leads the County’s supplier diversity and inclusion efforts. Working with local and diverse suppliers, central purchasing, and the County’s buying community, the Manager identifies opportunities at both program and transactional levels to advance inclusive procurement.


Essential Duties

Developing, implementing, and managing innovative procurement solutions to enable optimal process efficiency and make smart purchasing easy.

Identifying suppliers from diverse and marginalized backgrounds with whom the County can activate mutually beneficial relationships.

Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective diverse suppliers and liaise with strategic sourcing leads to qualify new suppliers.

Educate stakeholders on the importance of supplier diversity as well as what tools are available to support this effort.

Acts as the departmental liaison to the minority chambers of commerce in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Have a participatory role with national and regional procurement associations focused on advancing supplier diversity and inclusion. Work with the Central Purchasing sourcing leads on RFx events to ensure local and minority businesses not only are able to participate, but also have the tools and information needed to compete and collaborate with team members to create action plans based on feedback provided from focus groups, and economic inclusion meetings with external partners.

Serve the department in overseeing compliant procurement, taking an active role in purchase order approvals and other activities.


Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is required

At least 5 years of progressive supplier diversity and inclusion experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge of, and passion for, sustainability including economic inclusion

Must possess both strong communications and presentation skills (oral/written)

Effective networking, relationship management, project management, presentation, and event management skills

Strong ability to listen to, collaborate and lead diverse stakeholders

Experience with the government sector is highly preferred
