Job Opening: Research Clerk/Transactions Coordinator

Location: Government Center, Media, PA

Starting Pay: $10.86/hour
Scheduled Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm; 35 hours per week
The Research Clerk/Transactions Coordinator searches for Marriage Records and upon request, prepares plain, certified and/or exemplified copies of Marriage Records. The Research/Clerk Transactions Coordinator answers the public’s inquiries regarding obtaining marriage records.
Under the direction of the Register of Wills and Department Deputies, the Research Clerk/Transactions Coordinator:
Handles high volume of Marriage record requests whether in person or via U.S. mail, email or telephone request
Prepares plain, certified copies and/or exemplified copies of Marriage Licenses as requested
Prepares correspondence in response to request for Marriage Clearance
Handles requests for Birth/Death Records for 1893-1906
Distributes Commonwealth of PA forms for the request of birth/death records to the public as requested
Performs other duties as assigned
High school graduate or equivalent
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Prior office experience preferred
Excellent customer service
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
