Summary

The Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1 has the responsibility of ensuring all County 2176 Waiver funded consumers who meet eligibility criteria are enrolled in the Waiver once capacity is identified and maintain eligibility for Waiver funding. This process helps individuals receive essential, supportive services while remaining in their communities, which enhances quality of life. You will be liaising with the County Assistance Office for Waiver issues, or any issues related to medical assistance eligibility, in addition to serving as the point of contact with Supports Coordination Organizations (SCOs). This responsibility includes working with SCO's whenever there is an issue related to eligibility for individuals on their caseloads.

Your success in this role will rely on the use of various web portals and electronic document management systems, as well as your willingness and ability to develop a thorough knowledge of 2176 Waiver procedures, requirements, and regulations. You will also have the opportunity to build comfort with effectively teaching waiver issues to a broad audience and to work cooperatively with County and provider staff, consumers, family members, and the County Assistance Office. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police, Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI clearance.
