The Mobile Health Coordinator is responsible for operational and logistical execution of Delaware County Health Department (DCHD) mobile health events and use and care of the department’s Mobile Health Unit (MHU). This position works with community partners, local governments, internal and external staff to ensure that optimal services are provided to the targeted communities. The Mobile Health Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of mobile health event planning, execution, tracking and evaluation. The Mobile Health Coordinator will drive and in coordination with County Motor Vehicle Management support maintenance of the MHU and/or coordinate contracted support to drive and maintain the vehicle. This position will support weekend and evening events as needed.
Communicates with community partners, DCHD staff, and other collaborations to plan, organize, and coordinate activities of each program. This may include working out logistics for any needed parking permits, agreements, licenses and/or safety plans for the mobile unit with event organizers.
Maintains mobile calendar of events.
Collaborates with partners and DCHD staff to ensure that events are promoted to maximize event effectiveness.
Collaborates with the DCHD departments to staff events and stock the MHU as needed for each event.
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment for the MHU to ensure that needed supplies and equipment are available for events.
Serve as primary contact for mobile event staff - confirming their arrival and set-up, supporting them through the event, troubleshooting and escalating when needed.
Schedule people for mobile events, communicate reminders, and manage non-medical follow-ups.
Mobile Health Unit Maintenance and Coordination
Manages all aspects of MHU coordination and scheduling including driver scheduling and communication.
Coordinates MHU repairs and routine maintenance with either County Moter Vehicles or a contracted entity to minimize impact on events schedule and service delivery.
Ensures readiness of mobile health unit vehicle(s) for outreach activities. Coordinates maintenance of mobile units with office manager, ensuring appropriate timing and scheduling for minimal impact on mobile operations.
Maintains records of MHU use, miles driven, maintenance, and repair.
Drives MHU to events and supports events on-site, as needed.
Advances program planning and development, program improvement, and problem solving and escalates, when needed.
Follows up with venues, attendees, and volunteers for all events.
Conducts post-event surveys with partners, DCHD staff, drivers, and patients to identify and address problems promptly, gather data for performance metrics and reporting, and to inform program improvements.
Provide routine and ad hoc reporting on mobile services.
Evaluate, update, and/or create procedures to optimize the effectiveness of the DCHD mobile health program.
Assist in identifying opportunities for program expansion, including new partnerships, funding sources, and service areas.
Act as the primary liaison to key stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare providers, social services agencies, community partners, vendors, and venues to enhance program effectiveness and reach.
Maintain a contact list and/or database of mobile health program collaborators.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Attends meetings as required and participates in committees as directed.
Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned or needed.
Bachelors degree in health, social work, marketing, public relations, or other relevant field AND two years of work experience in project management, event planning, community organizing, public health, social work.
Associates degree in health, social work, marketing, public relations, or other relevant field AND three years of work experience in project management, event planning, community organizing, public health, social work.
A high school diploma AND five years of work experience in project management, event planning, community organizing, public health, social work.
Ability and experience to safely operation large vehicles up to 33 foot in length.
Valid driver’s license.
Required to obtain, at their own expense, three forms of clearance, including PA State Police Criminal History Record Check; PA Child Abuse History; and FBI Criminal History Background Check including finger printing prior to employment.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination per CDC guidelines submitted before start date.
