Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; 40 hour week with 1/2 hour lunch.
Rate: $33,452 annually / $18.38 hourly
Under supervision of the Director of Motor Vehicle Management:
Repairs, makes adjustments to, and services the County's fleet of approximately 425 vehicles.
Performs routine preventive maintenance, vehicle inspections, minor and major repairs, etc.
Assigns pool cars to authorized personnel according to established procedures.
Ensure vehicles signed out for overnight trips have vehicle check to ensure vehicle is road worthy.
Receives calls from employees using County vehicles to report problems and/or accidents.
Utilizes computer to enter information from invoices for parts.
Enters work order information for all vehicles.
Assist Director with preparing for, and conducting vehicle sales.
Receives phone calls and responds within authorized limits, takes messages and/or forwards calls to Office Manager and/or Director.
Types correspondence, memos, notices, etc. for Director.
Files vehicles request forms, work orders, correspondence, etc.
Performs related duties as required.
Must have own tools to include standard and metric tools such as: sockets, ratchets, pillars, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, air ratchets, impact gun, ignition tester, test light, multi-mete, timing light, various types of pullers and other general/special tools.
High school graduate or equivalent. Valid PA driver's license, valid PA inspection license to include emissions inspection. Valid A/C license.
Prefer two (2) years of experience performing repairs and replacing parts on motor vehicles.
Ability to bend, stoop and climb in order to work on vehicles; moderate to heavy lifting involved.
