The Warehouse Coordinator reports to the Administrative Services Administrator and will plan, organize, supervise, and participate in daily warehouse operations and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and materials for the Delaware County Health Department (DCHD). This position also functions as DCHD’s courier and as backup to DCHD’s Fleet Coordinator.
Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse inventory and productivity to direct supervisor.
Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
Preparing and delivering interdepartmental supply request.
Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
Responsible for performing as DCHD’s courier, following DCHD Mail Delivery/Pick-Up Policy, and delivering/picking up from the state laboratory and other locations as needed.
Following fleet policy and safely driving vehicles to and from operations and provide backup support to DCHD’s Fleet Coordinator as needed.
Providing logistical support and transporting personnel when necessary.
Responsible for reporting all warehouse and vehicle maintenance needs to direct supervisor/Fleet Coordinator.
Perform daily inspections to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the supply warehouse and equipment.
Effectively communicate with other departments to ensure that products and mail are shipped and delivered in accordance to written policy.
Responsible to keep supply boxes completely stocked and ready to go.
Other duties as requested.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to safely operate multi size vehicles (box truck, van, etc.)
Forklift Operation Certification will be considered an advantage.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of persons.
Ability to maintain and handle confidential information.
Ability to follow protocol, procedures, and established guidelines.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances and needs.
Excellent communication skills.
A strong work ethic and ability to manage a demanding and changing workload.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Experience in inventory management systems and warehouse software.
Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for warehouse and fleet operations.
Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies in inventory or delivery schedules.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, utilize a keyboard, sit, bend at the waist, and talk or hear, operate heavy equipment, and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis. Occasionally, the employee will need to reach or work with arms above shoulder height, kneel, stoop, crouch or squat, crawl, drive, climb stairs, twist, or rotate at the waist while working; push, or carry items.
*The selected candidate will be required to obtain, at their own expense, 3 forms of clearance, including PA State Police Criminal History Record Check; PA Child Abuse History; and FBI Criminal History Background Check including finger printing prior to employment.
