Salary: $22,964 annually / $12.62 hourly
This position is responsible for scanning case documentation and related documents into the system(s); prepare in-coming documents for scanning. Research and identify case connections and location to upload documents. This position is responsible for the filing and retrieval of court files for various purposes to include but not limited to court hearings, participant inspection and judicial review.
Under general supervision of the Supervisor, Court Services:
Scans court documents and external correspondence into the case management system.
Prepares in-coming documents for scanning to include but not limited to removing staples and paper clips, straightening out papers, making the necessary copies and loading documents in the scanner.
Sorts and discards unnecessary paper or electronic documents.
Operates various scanning devices, printers, and copiers to include basic troubleshooting.
Prepares original records for archiving to include packaging for off-site storage.
Provides complete and accurate responses to department staff.
Researches case files when necessary and adds additional case-related documents and pages to existing folders.
Substitutes for receptionist as directed
Performs other related duties as required
High school diploma or equivalent degree. General office skills with two (2) years of experience, excellent telephone and communication skills. Solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact with the public; strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows and PC functionality; Good organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail; Good oral and written communication skills; Computer knowledge including Windows and PC functionality; Strong typing skills; Ability to work individually and as part of a team; Knowledge of Court Processes preferred.
Normal good health.
Normal air-conditioned office. 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 35 hours/week. Ability to function well in high-stress situations. Overtime as needed and approved or directed by the unit supervisor. Some exposure to distraught families, victims, etc. and disorderly juveniles.
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within three months of starting employment.
