Shift: 7:30 am to 4:30pm, extended hours as needed
The IT Helpdesk Assistant provides hardware and software support to all County and Court personnel.
Under the direction of the Help Desk Supervisor, the IT Helpdesk Assistant will:
Configure new computers in-house
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
Provide problem resolution, reassigning or escalating advanced inquiries to appropriate staff
Document client communication, troubleshooting steps and resolution via ticketing system
Manage user account information in Active Directory and within applications, including changes in accordance with defined policies and procedures
Provide quality remote and onsite network support for our clients
Field inbound trouble calls and use remote monitoring and testing tools to identify, troubleshoot and resolve network and end user issues.
Troubleshoot Windows based application issues
Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance tasks on systems
Assist in hardware and software rollouts
Performs all other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
High school graduate or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
Knowledge/experience troubleshooting Windows 7 and 10 desktops and laptops
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A strong desire to know how and why things work, and inclination toward sustainable and manageable solutions
Strong attention to detail, great organizational and problem-solving skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
