Summary

The incumbent will work under the direction of the Mental Health Director and under the general supervision of the Deputy Mental Health Administrator. The Caseworker 2 will be responsible for a variety of duties relating to overall mental health services in the County.


Essential Duties

Serve as the OBH liaison by providing, oversight, technical assistance and support to assigned Community Residential Services (CRS).

Schedule regular meetings between the Community Residential Services (CRS) providers, the families and the community support team of individuals who reside in their programs.

Responsible for attending and providing documentation from the Affordable Housing Initiative (AHI) bi-monthly meetings.

Serve as the back-up for participation in monthly Treatment Team meetings and Community Support Plan (CSP) meetings for individuals who are in active discharge planning from the Civil Section of NSH.

Work closely with the MH Specialist I with the tracking, data entry, follow-up and monitoring of all treatment team and discharge planning meetings for individuals who will be discharged from the Civil Section of NSH and from the Residential Treatment Facility Adults-Forensic Program (RTFA- F).

Responsible for attending and providing documentation from the Community Residential Services (CRS) COMAP meetings for individuals discharged from the Civil Section of NSH and from the RTFA-Forensic Program.

Responsible for the scheduling, coordination, and tracking of discharge plans with NSH and RTFA-F residents, their families NSH/RTFA-F Treatment teams and community providers.

Attend weekly Mental Health Treatment Team Court planning meetings and MH Treatment Court proceedings with the Mental Health Specialist I.

Participate in Bi-weekly CRS staff meetings.

Act as County Liaison to consumers and families as directed by MH Director.

Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or a bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police, Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI clearance.
