Summary

The Fleet Coordinator will manage the vehicle fleet and equipment needs of the Delaware County Health Department (DCHD), including DCHD’s mobile wellness clinic. This position may also support other logistical needs of the department, including emergency preparedness and courier functions. This position will work in coordination and cooperation with Delaware County Motor Vehicle Services and across all DCHD divisions. This is an non-exempt position.


Essential Duties

Coordinate the maintenance, repair, operation, and deployment of DCHD services vehicles and equipment, which will include 29 electric vehicles.

Drive, maintain and support DCHD’s mobile wellness clinic (33’ Winnebago).

Support public health emergency preparedness program as needed.

Drive and instruct others to drive and operate all DCHD equipment and vehicles.

Problem solve fleet and equipment related issues.

Maintain logs for routes and mileage. Submits monthly report to County Motor Vehicle Department.

Keeps track of employee driver’s licenses and renewals. Orients new staff on the use of county cars, incident reports and gas pumps.

Courier duties as needed.

Provide suggestions for purchasing equipment as necessary. Purchase minor equipment when needed.

Conduct needs assessment, training, placement, monitoring and overall program evaluation.

Perform other duties, tasks, special projects and related work, as required.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent

Two to three years’ previous experience preferred

Valid driver’s license, Pennsylvania Class B license preferred

** Delaware County requires all DCHD employees be up to date for their COVID-19 vaccination. Proof of vaccination must be submitted before a candidate’s start date if hired.
