Position Description

Coordinating intake and assessment of all children referred for services. The service Coordinator will be responsible for completing all necessary paperwork to enroll the child in the Early Intervention system, including referral for a full developmental assessment as necessary. Referring each eligible child for E.I. services. Facilitating the Individual Family Service Plan (I.F.S.P.) meetings. Mediating any disputes between the family and the provider. Referring the family to other services required to maintain an optimum home environment for the family/child.

Referring children to the EI Preschool prior to age three and ensuring a timely transition. Developing and maintaining individual files for each child.


Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or a bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

There is no residency requirement for this position.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police, Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI clearance.
