Job Opening: CID Administrative Secretary
Department: Criminal Investigation Division (CID)

Scheduled Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM; Monday through Friday: 35 hour week. Occasional OT. required to transcribe statements. Air conditioned office located in the Court House.
Salary: $29,229.20 annual, $16.06 hourly
Provides secretarial support for staff of approximately 55 to include 31 detectives, 7 sergeants and 3 lieutenants.
Receives phone calls and visitors: responds/directs and provides information: takes messages:
Receives emergency calls from DELCOM: replays information/dispatches to designated location.
Transcribes interviews recorded digitally to provide statements for Detectives.
Prepares and types memos: search warrants affidavits of probable cause: copies/forwards police reports.
Prepares/forwards weekly memorandum of on-call staff. Contacts bail office to conduct bail interviews.
Obtains daily mails;n sorts/distributes: takes inventory of in-house office supplies and orders as needed.
Creates annual numerical log to maintain track/status od assigned cases. Contacts cellblock to request availability of specific defendant for deliveries: contacts to notify that defendant will be returned to cellblock.
Check identification of those attending Press Conferences in CID Office. Researches Court Orders for
Expungements: communicates results with Sergeant of Administration.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
One year previous responsible clerical experience to include a thorough working knowledge of MicroSoft Windows Applications (WORD & OUTLOOK for e-mail). Ability to learn the use of Visual Alert Database. Dictaphone experience required; must be able to transcribe digitally recorder statements. Ability to pass security background check.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/carry a maximum of twenty-five (25) lb. file boxes. Ability to sit at computer for extended period of time.
