Shift: 8:30 am to 5:00pm, extended hours as needed


Summary

Under limited supervision and in coordination with the Public Relations department, the audio/visual tech will provide multimedia services for County Council, various meetings and special events. Work performed includes routine maintenance on multimedia equipment, troubleshooting multimedia equipment and computer problems and testing equipment prior to event. Report all non-functioning equipment for repair and remediation. Provide video production services anywhere from pre-production to post-production. Provide non-linear editing, DVD authoring with menus and creating digital files. Troubleshoot and use production software technology. This position is considered essential.


Essential Duties

Under the general direction of the CIO and the management team, the Audio/Visual Technician will:

Advise, train, and provide onsite and remote technical support to IT, Public Relations and the customers of this service including County Council, County Clerk, County staff with audio-visual equipment, streaming services, video conferencing, and general production

Troubleshoot various equipment malfunctions

Provide guidance and recommend solutions based on technology requirements and limitations

Design, develop and update training and knowledgebase materials/documentation

Develop and conduct training workshops for specific audio-visual related use cases

Operate Granicus audio and video equipment

Schedule, deliver, set-up, operate and retrieve audio-visual equipment

Assist with organizing events and maintains event schedule

Provide quality video and/or audio production services

Maintain inventory of all audio-visual equipment

Verify audio-visual equipment in all rooms is functioning as installed

Evaluate technology trends inside and outside of the County

Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Associate Degree in Audio-Visual, Communications, Media, or equivalent years of experience in a related field

5 years of relevant experience

Demonstrate experience with various hardware and software video conferencing platforms

Demonstrate understanding of signal flow, distributed audio/video, and multi-room systems

Computer and network literate

Able to work under pressure, independently, and within a team, in a fast-paced environment

Willing to work extended hours when required

Effective verbal and written communication

Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people, their expertise, and organizational relationships

Ability to travel to off-site locations

Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
