2024 NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH AWARDS

"Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion."

The theme for 2024 is " Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion " This theme recognizes "women, past, present, and future, throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.

The Delaware County Women's Commission believes that equity, diversity, and inclusion are powerful driving forces that are having a wide-ranging impact on our country. As members of families, civic and community groups, businesses and legislative bodies, women are in the forefront of reevaluating the status quo. They are looking anew at what harmful social policies and behaviors exist and, often subtly, determine our future. In response, women in communities across the nation are helping to develop innovative programs and projects within corporations, the military, federal agencies, and educational organizations to address these injustices.

The Commission will honor three women, representing: Hall of Fame (Past) - Honors the memory of a deceased woman leader Woman of Achievement (Present) - Honors a current Visionary Leader from our community Woman of Achievement (Future) - Honors a young woman who is making a difference today, all within the context of our theme.

Recipients must be a woman whose leadership contributions helped shape the history of Delaware County. The honoree recipient must have lived in Delaware County.

The Women's History Month Celebration will take place on March 23, 2024. If your nominee is chosen, you will be notified. All nominees and those who nominated them will be provided information concerning the event.

If your nominee is selected, you will be asked to present the award at the DCWC Annual Awards Luncheon.
