The Human Resources Department coordinates the hiring, promotion, reassignment rotation, performance evaluation and discharge of all employees. Human Resources maintains job descriptions and a classification evaluation program for bargaining unit employees and maintains all employees personnel records. This department also participates in negotiations, collective bargaining, grievances and arbitrations including hearings due to claims of harassment.
The County's Affirmative Action Program and all Employee Benefits are coordinated by Human Resources, which also supervises all labor relations matters, including negotiations and collective bargaining and participates in all matters pertaining to grievances and arbitrations.
Human Resources and Employee Benefits continues to monitor the County's self funding programs workers compensation and medical insurance. The record keeping and monitoring for all benefits including life insurance for all active and retired employees is also maintained.
