One June 12, Delaware County recognized the anniversary of the United States Army, which was established on June 14, 1775 by flying the Army flag at the Courthouse and Government Center. It will fly from the flagpole in the courtyard of the Government Center and Courthouse complex through the Army’s birth date of June 14, which also is Flag Day. Military flags will be raised at appropriate times later this year in observance of the Coast Guard, established on Aug. 4, 1791; the Air Force, on Sep. 18, 1947; the Navy, on Oct. 13, 1775; and the Marine Corps, on Nov. 10, 1775.

Delaware County Council thanks and commends those who have served or are serving, protecting our country.
