This summer, Delaware County Libraries invites everyone to participate in Summer Quest 2020! There is a program for every age group, from infants up to adults. For our youngest readers, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is available to help parents keep track of books their children read. Delaware County Libraries is also offering two versions of the summer program Imagine Your Story, one for kids and the other for teens. In addition, adults are invited to participate in The Quarantine Fifteen. Summer Quest also includes a virtual version of our popular Journey Across Delco!
Using Beanstack, which can be accessed via the web or through an app, participants will be able to log books, complete challenges and activities, earn badges, and submit book reviews. Delco residents can visit the Delaware County Libraries website to register: http://www.delcolibraries.org/summer-quest
Family registration is available, so parents can keep track of everyone from one account. All 26-member libraries are participating in Summer Quest. Residents can choose their preferred library during registration.
“Participating in Summer Quest is a great way to help kids keep reading and learning over the summer and helps to reduce the ‘summer slide’ that can occur when school’s out,” said Delaware County Libraries Director Catherine Bittle. “Adults participating in the challenge will have the opportunity to expand their reading horizons and try new things.” This year’s Summer Quest will also include a countywide community goal! We are challenging Delco residents to collectively read 5,000 books this summer. Follow our progress from your Beanstack account!
