The Delaware County Jail Oversight Board will hold its first meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 10 in room 110 of the Government Center (201 W. Front St., Media, PA)

Delaware County Council approved a resolution establishing oversight of the county jail with a County Jail Oversight Board at its Sept. 25 public council meeting. The new Jail Oversight Board replaces the former County Board of Prison Inspectors, which was comprised of two members selected by County Council and three members selected by the county Board of Judges.

The Jail Oversight Board includes the County Executive Director Marianne Grace, Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judges John J. Whelan and Mary Alice Brennan, Delaware County Sheriff Jerry Sanders, Delaware County Controller Joanne Phillips and Delaware County Council Chairman John McBlain or a designee, and three citizen members.

The citizen members are Brian Corson, Jonathan King and Deborah Love. The citizen members were appointed by Executive Director, Marianne Grace with the consent of County Council. They are appointed for 3 year terms.
