Job Opening: Leave of Absence Coordinator

The HR Advisor/Leave of Absence Coordinator is responsible for understanding and applying Human Resources policies and procedures in the daily administrative support of benefits, Cobra, wellness program, workers compensation, accommodations, leave and general HR operations.
Under the direction of the HR Director, the Leave of Absence Coordinator will:
Administer leave programs in multiple states such as Short- and Long-Term Disability, FMLA, Workers Comp, Military, Parental and other leaves of absence
Provide guidance to employees on leave options
Manage and manually update employee information and statuses across all HR platforms
Maintain HR medical files and payroll notifications
Verify employment information and status changes
Support the development, implementation and application of HR policies and procedures
Audit leave, benefit and time records to ensure compliance
Keep up on emerging knowledge of employment laws, FMLA, ADA and regulations
Coordinate requests made by employees, including maintaining timelines for deliverables while keeping employees informed of the progress of their requests
Assist with everyday benefits enrollment, questions and reconciliations
Assist in various benefit/leave audits
Develop and maintain business relationships with brokers, carriers, WC adjusters and benefit partners/vendors
Provide exceptional customer service to our employees. A sense of urgency in follow-up and follow-through on issues brought to our attention
Work collaboratively with other members of the HR team to improve current processes, work on projects, and proactively share findings with the team
Performs all other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2-3 years leave administration experience
Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to build collaborative relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within three months of starting employment.
