Job Opening: Historic Preservation Internship
Posting Date: May 31, 2022

Position Description

Currently we have 49 municipalities, 17 of which have at least been partially digitized by our section. Our intern in 2019 was able to complete 3 (large) surveys. We have 32 municipalities left, with different levels of existing surveys. 18 have relatively comprehensive surveys from the 1980s-90s that would require just updating. 11 others have just ‘Windshield’ surveys with minimal information, and 3 have no previous survey list. This is an ongoing project that has been disrupted by the pandemic and lack of interns over the past few years. If we had a dedicated full time intern to work primarily on the surveys and assist with the other tasks as needed, we would be able to finish this project much quicker.

Assist with municipal Historic Resource Surveys

Typing, scanning, general computer skills (Excel, Google maps, Internet)

Other tasks as needed, dependent on background and skills of applicant (such as Section 106 reviews/ Subdivision reviews)

Qualifications

Computer skills (Excel/Office, Googlemaps/ GIS, etc.) required

Historic background preferable but not necessary
