Released: November 23, 2020

The Delaware County Board of Elections certified all of the County’s election results except those for the 165th State House District. At 10:01 a.m., Judge Whelan, on the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, issued an order enjoining the certification of that race result pending a hearing that occurred today at 1:30 p.m. The judge heard from counsel and witnesses and committed to issuing a ruling within 24 hours. During the hearing in front of Judge Whelan, the County Election Board was served with a petition to enjoin the certification of the results of the Pennsylvania 9th Senatorial District. The race result in Delaware County was certified in the morning meeting of the Board of Elections. Because the district also covers part of Chester County, it is possible that the race cannot be certified in full pending a hearing in Chester County scheduled for December 16th.
