Starting Pay: $11 per hour
Scheduled Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm; 35 hours per week. Overtime may be required during Primary and General elections.
The Voting Registration Clerk performs various administrative tasks in support of the operations of elections. Election Clerks must have strong organizational and communication skills as well as possess high attention to detail to help execute smooth and reliable elections.
Under the direction and oversight of the Chief Clerk/Director and/or Deputy Director, the Elections Clerk will:
Process voter registration applications
Receive and review applications
Enter application information into SURE database
Compare new application information with SURE system records
Process address changes
Receive and process electronic batches of voter information
Provide excellent customer service to in person customers at the counter and over the phone
Receive and process correspondence
Prepare for elections by assisting with polling and election materials
Receive and process Open Records Review
Receive and process legal challenges to candidates’ petitions/nomination papers
Other duties as assigned
High school graduate or equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within three months of starting employment.
