Residents of Delaware County can apply for employment at any of the county run departments by submitting an employment application to the Delaware County Personnel Department. The Personnel Department under the direction of Robert J. White, coordinates the hiring, promotion, reassignment rotation, performance evaluation and discharge of all employees.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following positions:

 

Clerical
There are currently several clerical positions available in various County and Court departments.  Minimum requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Prior office experience preferred

Basic job duties include:

  • Filing/maintaining databases
  • Data entry
  • Answering telephones
  • Customer Service
  • Typing

Juvenile Detention Center Detention Officer
Minimum requirements include:

  • Associates degree OR 60 post-secondary credits in social services or related field
  • Ability to pass security check
  • Ability to pass physical examination

Maintenance
There are currently several positions available in Facilities Management including Maintenance Worker, Boiler Room Operator and Electrician.  Minimum requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two to three years’ previous experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Deputy Sheriff
Minimum requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Ability to pass security check
  • Act 120 (Municipal Police Training) certification preferred
  • Ability to complete and pass State certification and training

Basic job duties include:

  • Transporting prisoners
  • Monitoring courtrooms
  • Servicing writs/warrants

 

County and Courthouse Park Police Patrolman
Minimum requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Ability to pass security check
  • Act 120 (Municipal Police Training) preferred
  • Successful completion of six-month probationary period to include qualifying with use of firearm

Basic job duties include:

  • Maintaining security, public safety and orderly conditions in County buildings and property
  • Providing physical protection to ensure safety of County employees and visitors to County buildings/property
  • Traffic control
  • Responding to emergency situations

Fair Acres Geriatric Center
Fair Acres, Delaware County’s skilled nursing facility, is currently looking for full and part-time RNs, LPNs and CNAs for all shifts.
