Welcome to the Delaware County Health Department website

CHIP: The Delaware County Health Department (DCHD) is pleased to announce the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) 2024-2028, a strategic guide to address key health priorities in the county. Developed through a comprehensive assessment and community collaboration.

DCHD encourages residents to review the CHIP, which is available on the Delaware County website, delcopa.gov/community_health/dchd_chip.html. Findings from the Community Health Assessment can be found at delcopa.gov/cha.

Prospect Medical Bankruptcy/Crozer Health System This remains a fluid situation and details on potential changes are uncertain. We will update DCHD’s Prospect Medical Bankruptcy website as more information becomes available. You may also reach out to the Delaware County Wellness Line at (484) 276–2100 or by email at DelcoWellness@co.delaware.pa.us. Reminder, information on when to seek emergency care versus urgent care is available here.

Lead Poisoning Prevention and Awareness! DCHD proudly launched its "Lead-Free in 1-2-3," awareness campaign to reduce lead poisoning in Delaware County. Its theme "Is Lead Lurking in Your Home?", aims to educate residents on lead dangers, encourage testing, and promote prevention. Lead exposure, especially in children and pregnant women, can cause serious health issues. Visit LeadFree123.org for resources, prevention tips, and local testing options.

Challenge! DCHD, in partnership with Health Fitness Connections, is launching its 1st Healthy Weight Challenge as part of the 2025 Fitness & Me Program—a free 8-week initiative to help residents get active, improve fitness, and boost well-being. Participants can sign up through the registration link here.

The program kicks off on February 24 during DCHD’s Heart Health Awareness Event at Delaware County Wellness Center in Yeadon. Weigh-in events will be held before the kick off and participants will receive free access to a fitness website and mobile app with daily activity prompts and weekly community events.

Update! STI/HIV testing is now available at DCHD's "Test and Go" kiosk machines. These kiosks also offer a variety of other *free* public health resources. These kiosks offer a lab (PCR) respiratory panel test for COVID-19 and Flu A/B and rapid COVID-19 home (antigen) tests, as well as public health items like Narcan, test strips, condoms, feminine hygiene supplies, and first aid kits. More information and where to find a kiosk near you.
